Product Description:
The ES3702 is a Two-channel analog input terminal made by Beckhoff. It reads voltage signals between -10V and +10V and provides this data to a controller. It translates the impulses into digital values with 16-bit resolution and employs electrical isolation to protect the system. This terminal is designed for precise signal readings in industrial automation, where accuracy is important.
Both channels can be used simultaneously, and the terminal can sample signals up to 100,000 ksps each. From 1 to 100, user can change the oversampling rate to customize the amount of data collected to fit their individual requirements. In order to detect rapid voltage changes, the terminal works best with signals up to 30 kHz in frequency. In addition to being able to remain in sync with other EtherCAT devices, the ES3702 two-channel analog input terminal provides distributed clock synchronization with timing accuracy better than 1 microsecond. Within a few milliseconds, the conversion is performed on each individual sample. Because of its large internal resistance (more than 200 kΩ), the terminal has no effect on the signals it detects. An input filter set at 80 kHz makes it easier to maintain signal purity.
The ES3702 terminal can take a common-mode voltage up to 35V, which gives it versatility in varied configurations. It also has very low measurement error, less than ±0.3% of the whole scale at frequencies up to 10 Hz. Extra wiring is unnecessary, as power is supplied via the E-bus. With its ability to function in coordinated measurement systems and its strong construction, the terminal is an exceptional alternative for the precise and dependable acquisition of signals in existing control systems.
Frequently Asked Questions about ES3702:
Q: Why does ES3702 use spread clock technology?
A: The distributed clock technology provides exact synchronization with other EtherCAT devices. It gets timing accuracy better than 1 microsecond for coordinated measurements.
Q: How does ES3702 handle different input signals?
A: The terminal handles differential voltage signals between -10V and +10V. Its high internal resistance (>200 kΩ) reduces loading effects on measured signals.
Q: Does ES3702 allow simultaneous channel sampling?
A: Yes, the terminal allows simultaneous sampling of both channels. Each channel can achieve the highest sampling rate of 100 ksps independently.
Q: What is the oversampling effect in ES3702?
A: Oversampling helps terminal capture multiple samples per bus cycle. The adjustable factor (1-100) allows optimized data acquisition based on application requirements.
Q: How accurate is the ES3702 measurement?
A: The terminal offers measurement uncertainty of less than ±0.3% up to 10 Hz. The 16-bit resolution provides precise digitization of analog signals.
