The ES3202 is an EtherCAT terminal manufactured by Beckhoff for precise temperature measurement utilizing resistance temperature detectors (RTDs). It comes with two analog input channels and allows for the direct connection of Pt sensors with a 0.1°C per digit resolution.

The ES3202 EtherCat Terminal is capable of detecting currents under 0.5 mA. Pt sensors can work in temperatures from -200°C to +850°C, and Ni sensors can work in temperatures from -60°C to +250°C. PT sensors have a measurement error of less than ±0.5°C because they give accurate readings. For interference protection, it is very important to keep 500 V of electrical isolation between the E-bus and the signal power. With a bit width of 2 x 32-bit RTD input, the interface usually takes 190 mA from the E-bus to process data. Built-in security features include a limit value monitor, a digital filter that boosts signal quality, and link technology that can be changed to work with each type of wire. Between -25 and +60 degrees Celsius, it can work, and up to 95% relative humidity will not make it condense. The terminal meets the EMC standards of EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 and adheres to EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27 for resistance to shaking and shock.

Regarding the cross-section of the connection, the ES3202 terminal is capable of handling ferrules ranging from 0.14 to 1.5 mm, solid and stranded wires ranging from 0.08 to 2.5 mm·. It has certifications from organizations like CE, CCC, UL, ATEX, and IECEx, and it meets the requirements of the IP20 standard.
