Beckhoff developed the ES3008 EtherCAT terminal with eight analogue input channels, enabling precise signal capturing in automated manufacturing. The terminal's small 12 mm x 100 mm x 68 mm housing dimensions make it feasible to install in multiple positions.
The eight analog inputs on the ES3008 EtherCat terminal are single-ended and can process voltage signals ranging from -10 V to +10 V. It has a measurement inaccuracy of less than ±0.3% relative to full scale68, and its resolution is 12 bits. The terminal has a normal 130 mA68 E-bus current usage and 500 V electrical isolation between the signal voltage and the E-bus. Each process image channel 8 has a bit width of 32 bytes, with 2 bytes dedicated to status and 2 bytes to value. Some of the unique features included in the ES terminal that improve data integrity and monitoring capabilities include limit value monitoring, switchable measuring data representation, overload indication in process data, and activatable FIR/IIR filters. The default conversion time is 1.25 ms, but it can be adjusted for multiplexed operation, and the input filter limit frequency is 1 kHz. The terminal is easy to integrate into EtherCAT-based systems since it does not require an address or configuration settings to function.
The working temperature range of the ES3008 terminal is -25°C to +60°C, and the storage temperature range is -40°C to +85°C. The terminal follows EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-278 vibration and shock standards while maintaining IP20 protection and operating under 95% relative humidity conditions. Both the EMC immunity and the emission criteria are in line with EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4. The terminal meets strict professional automation system standards for reliable signal acquisition and monitoring.
