Product Description:

The Beckhoff ES2024 is an output terminal for devices in the ES EtherCAT Terminal Series that controls four channels of digital output, and this device is intended for use in industrial automation systems. This device is rated for a nominal voltage of 24 V DC, where each of its four outputs can support a maximum current of 2.0 A, fitted with short-circuit protection circuitry for safety and long service life.

This terminal gives the option of a simple wiring system that uses a two-wire connection technique. Ohmic, inductive and lamp load types are other types of loads that the ES2024 terminal permits use of. The switching speeds are also good since the normally ON time, turn-on (TON) is 40 µs while the turn-off (TOFF) time is 200 µs. This terminal is also intended for industrial usage, where its fatness meets the applicable conditions with respect to the resistance of shocks and vibrations (EN 60068-2-6 and 27) as well as in temperature from -25 °C to +60 °C. The terminal satisfactorily complies with the EMC immunity and emission requirements according to EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 standards.

Current draw from the E-bus amounts to 120 mA with another 13 mA plus load from the power contacts, the ES2024 is power saving but still provides sufficient output performance. Ex marking also appears on it (II 3 G Ex nA IIC T4 Gc), which means it can be exploited in potentially explosive dust & gas atmosphere. The ES2024’s low power consumption design, so called, IP 20 and installation orientation offers additional advantages for working with a number of automation problems where reliable and flexible digital output control is needed.
