ES2024 Beckhoff
Wake Industrial LLC is not an authorized distributor of this product.
The Beckhoff ES2024 is part of the ES EtherCAT Terminals series and provides 4 non-reactive outputs with a 2-wire connection technology. It supports a maximum output current of 2.0 A per channel at a nominal voltage of 24 V DC, and features reverse polarity protection. The terminal has a pluggable wiring level design, a typical E-bus current consumption of 120 mA, and an IP20 protection rating.
Internal Product Review
The Beckhoff ES2024 is an EtherCAT terminal configured as a 4-output digital output module for 24 V DC systems. Fast 40 µs turn-on and 200 µs turn-off performance supports precise control of ohmic, inductive, and lamp loads. A pluggable wiring level and IP20 protection make this terminal an efficient option for clean panel integration.

Product Description:
The ES2024 digital output terminal is produced by Beckhoff within the ES EtherCAT Terminals series. It integrates into the EtherCAT backplane and supplies switching power to external loads in machine control cabinets. With four individually controlled channels, the module converts controller output signals into isolated switched lines for direct actuation of solenoids, contactors, and signal lamps. It uses a pluggable wiring level that simplifies field replacement and speeds setup. This makes the terminal suitable for routine on and off control tasks in packaging equipment, assembly stations, and similar automation systems.
Each of the module’s 4 outputs is intended for a nominal supply of 24 V DC and can deliver up to 2.0 A per channel without derating, which suits moderate solenoids and pilot valves. Fast response is supported by a turn-on delay of only 40 µs and a turn-off delay of about 200 µs, so time-sensitive sequences can remain aligned with the controller cycle. The terminal supports ohmic, inductive, and lamp loads, and it includes reverse-polarity protection on its power contacts. This switching behavior is useful where short cycle times or closely timed output events are required. In the process image, the channel assignment occupies four output bits, giving the PLC direct access to the commanded output states.
The output stage uses 2-wire connection technology, which keeps wiring straightforward without additional bus bars. Its internal electronics draw only 120 mA from the E-bus, which helps limit the power demand placed on the coupler. The housing carries an IP20 protection class for installation in closed control panels, and the power contacts can pass up to 10 A to downstream modules. A pluggable wiring design and compact dimensions of 12 × 100 × 68 mm help conserve cabinet space and allow quick replacement when the terminal is serviced. The slim housing also fits dense terminal rows where panel depth and lateral space are limited.
