Beckhoff designs the ES1018 as a digital input module under the series name ES EtherCAT terminals for rapid signal acquisition functions. It supports abreast 3.5 cm DIN rail mounting configuration with a safe locking assembly. There is electrical isolation between E-bus and field potential that reaches 500 V to improve the operational safety levels.
The ES1018 ES terminal offers eight digital input channels and maintains fast input filter delay accuracy of 10 × 10⁻⁶ s. It supports inductive and capacitive sensors for versatile usage in application domain. The ES10 ES terminal functions within an operating voltage range of 24 V DC which includes -15% to +20% of nominal values to keep the performance stable under variable conditions. The logic “1” signal voltage falls between 11 to 30 V and logic “0” signal voltage exists between -3 to +5 V. It features an LED indication system per channel to display clear state signals and functions without any configuration parameters for immediate installation. The ES10 ES terminal’s E-bus consumes approximately 90 mA during current operations and power contact intake sums up to 2 mA due to attached load capacity which reaches 10 A maximum.
The ES1018 ES terminal includes durable polycarbonate housing as well as IP20 protection and targets installation in control cabinets. It is 55 g in weight and has a size that measures 12 mm width, 100 mm height and 68 mm depth.
