The EP2339-0021 is an industrial I/O block manufactured by Beckhoff and assigned to the EP Digital Input Modules series. It combines input sensing and output switching in a sealed housing so that sensors, indicators, and small actuators can be wired directly on the machine frame and then reported back to the controller through field cabling. In automated assembly, packaging, or material-handling equipment, the unit collects and forwards discrete signal states while driving low-power loads from the same enclosure.

The module offers 16 digital channels, allowing one device to cover multiple sensors or valves without additional junction boxes. Each output delivers a standard control voltage of 24 V DC, matching common pilot devices and other low-power actuators. A per-channel load capacity of 0.5 A lets it actuate indicator lamps or pneumatic solenoids directly, and a summed load limit of 4 A protects the internal power distribution from overheating. On the input side, every channel draws only 6 mA, so sourcing sensors do not need large current reserves. The permitted cable distance of 30 m to each sensor or actuator reduces the need for intermediate terminal strips on spread-out machines. Compact outer dimensions of 60 × 126 × 26.5 mm allow mounting in tight spaces, and the fully potted housing is rated IP65/IP66/IP67, meaning dust cannot enter and cleaning with low-pressure water jets is acceptable.
