Product Description:

EP2316-0008 is a high-density EtherCAT box module. The scope of supply includes the box, two protection caps for EtherCAT sockets, one protective cap for the supply voltage input, one protective cap for the supply voltage output, and 10 blank labels. Pre-assemble protective caps might not be tight enough for IP67 protection compliance. Therefore, operators must ensure that the caps are seated correctly. The EP2316-0008 box combines 8 digital outputs and 8 digital inputs in one unit. Inputs on the box have a 10 microsecond input filter for noise and interference suppression. Connections for the signals are made via a 25-pin D-sub socket located at the front of the unit. EtherCAT connections are made via two M8 sockets at the top of the unit. The unit supports 500 Volts electrical isolation for the EtherCAT interfaces.

The supply voltage input connection is through an M8 socket. The nominal input voltage to the EP2316-0008 box is 24 Volts DC and the nominal current draw is 120 milliamps. The input signals can use a cable with up 30 meter length. Input characteristics comply with EN 61131-2. The low (binary 0) and high (binary 1) signal levels are -3 to 5 Volts and 11 to 30 Volts. Nominal input current on the input channels is 6 milliamps. The output signals can use a cable with up 30 meter length. The box supplies nominal 24 Volts DC to the connected loads. The specified current per individual output channel is 0.5 Amps. The output sum current is 4 Amps. Typical ON state and OFF state changeover times are 60 microseconds and 300 microseconds. Without connectors, the box measures 30 x 126 x 26.5 millimeters.
