EP1312-0001 is an industrial EtherCAT box. It is produced by Beckhoff Automation. The box is especially designed to enable the deployment of EtherCAT networks in star network topology. Multiple such boxes can be used to realize a modular EtherCAT P network with star topology. The box has junction ports that can connect to individual network devices or complete strands of EtherCAT P networks. EtherCAT P is an extension of the EtherCAT protocol. It is designed to integrate power and data transmission over a single Ethernet cable. The protocol allows devices to receive both data and power through the same 4-wire Ethernet cable. EtherCAT P branches connect to the box via screw type M8 sockets. These sockets are shielded. LEDs on the box indicate the status of the EtherCAT P line.
The EP1312-0001 supports one input EtherCAT channel, one output EtherCAT channel and two output EtherCAT P channels. Its nominal voltage rating is 24 Volts DC.
