The EP1008-0002 is a compact digital input block manufactured by Beckhoff and assigned to the EP Digital Input Modules series. It brings field-level switches, proximity sensors, and push buttons onto an EtherCAT network, giving the controller direct status updates without intermediary terminal blocks. The module is intended for distributed machine sections where cabinet space is limited, so it mounts directly on the machine frame. Power distribution inside the device is separated into Up and Us domains, and each operates at 24 VDC, with one section reserved for internal electronics and the other intended for connected field devices.
