Product Description:
The EM7004-0004 is a new-generation industrial EtherCAT terminal module designed by Beckhoff Automation. This module is a product of decades of industrial innovation. It contains 16 digital inputs and outputs and can be comfortably installed in small control cabinets and terminal boxes. The design of this product is optimized for the direct connection of 4 servo drives that feed the module with RS485 signals. The module also contains four incremental encoders. The digital input and output on this terminal module are supplied with a voltage of about 24 volts; the product also contains four analogue inputs that is supplied with 10 volts. The minimum cycle time of this product is 1 millisecond; also, about 280 milliamperes of current is consumed through the E-bus.
During operation, this product does not generate a high amount of heat; however, the ambient temperature around this product should be between 0 to about 55 degrees Celsius. The EM7004-0004 terminal module is fastened to the assembly surface with the aid of a 35-millimeter mounting rail. The optimum installation position requires the mounting rail to be installed horizontally and the connected surfaces of the terminal to face forward. This mounting position allows the optimum cooling of the module via natural convection.
The digital inputs and outputs on this product can be connected in a single-conductor, two-conductor, and three-conductor module. The product is equipped with a housing that can withstand mild to moderate vibrations. Special features of this product include switchable output in relation to counter states, user scaling parameterization, and watchdog parameterization. The Bit width in the process image is about 28 bytes. The EM7004-0004 weighs 260 grams without the connector; with the connector, it weighs between 280 to about 270 grams.
