Product Description:
The ELM3604-0002 is a newly developed EtherCAT terminal from Beckhoff Automation. This product opens up completely new opportunities for the use of measurement technology in automation as well as testing and inspection applications. It is equipped with a 24-bit data resolution and can comfortably handle the toughest demands on measurement technology. The particular product is built for the evaluation of Integrated Electronic Piezo-Electric (IEPE) sensors; it meets international quality standards and can be used for vibration diagnostic applications and acoustic sensors. The product is classified according to the IP20 protection class. During operation, it should be protected from dust and water splashes. There are four channels on the ELM3604-0002, each of these channels can simultaneously function as a maximum sampling rate of 50 microseconds/20 kilo-samples per second.
The ELM3604-0002 has a metal housing unit with diagnostic Light Emitting Diodes. The unique housing material helps the terminal maintain a permissible operation temperature by efficiently eliminating excess heat through natural convection. The ELM3604-0002 does not require extensive configuration operation after delivery. It can also be easily mounted using a 35 millimeters DIN rail, which conforms to EN 60715 standards and has a lock.
The ELM3604-0002 EtherCAT terminal has an internal resistance greater than 2 mega-ohms. It maintains a typical temperature coefficient that is less than ten parts per million per kelvin. The IEPC sensors used with this device are often connected through coaxial cable. To make the connection work, the terminal features a shielded BNC connector, and it also uses a 2-wire connection technology. The oversampling factor of this product is selectable between 1 to about 100. The product can also carry out connection diagnostics to detect broken wires and short circuits.
