The EL1918-0000 is part of the EL EtherCAT Terminal series manufactured by Beckhoff Automation. This product is a Twin SAFE component that serves as a digital input terminal for sensors with potential free contacts for 24 volts. There are eight terminal fail safe inputs present on this product, these inputs feature LEDs that communicate connection status at the inputs in real time. The EL1918-0000 component also features special safety parameters that are designed to make it able to meet the several communication safety requirements.

The EL1918-0000 can be used as a safety controller at any time. The fault response time of this product is often less than the parametrizable watchdog time. When the product is in operation, the current consumption through the E-bus is about 165 milliamperes. There are up to 128 safe connections that can be used with this device. Each unit of this product is packaged in a recyclable cardboard that maintain permissible temperature around the product. A type label is also attached to each product to make identification and installation operation very easy for customers. The EL1918-0000 is designed to be installed horizontally, away from extreme vibration and environmental contamination.

The high density housing of the EL1918-0000 is made from polycarbonate material which is renowned for its extreme durability and thermal stability. It is also possible to establish the side by side mounting of this product through the use of double slot and key connection.
