The EK9500 is part of the EK EtherCAT coupler designed by the reputable Beckhoff to connect EtherNET/IP networks to analogue and digital EtherCAT Terminals and EtherCAT Box modules used in industrial communications. Communication signals are sent into the coupler through a RJ45 socket, which acts as the Ethernet interface; these signals are then converted into E-bus signal representation, which is sent into the EtherCAT terminals or EtherCAT box modules used with the device. The EtherCAT coupler can be connected to multiple EtherCAT terminals to form a communication station. The unique design of the coupler supports the sophisticated EtherNET/IP profile and fits seamlessly into the Ethernet/IP networks.
The EK9500 Bus coupler requires a continuous supply of 24 volts of direct current; it also requires an input current of approximately 120 milliamperes. Customers can connect this product to other couplers through the second RJ45 bus interface present on its housing unit. During operation, the average data transfer rate maintained by this product is about 100 megabits per minute. The number of EtherCAT Terminals and peripheral signals used with the coupler depends on the size of the process data.
