The EK9300-1010 is an energy-efficient EtherCAT coupler that is produced by highly trained engineers of the reputable Beckhoff Automation to improve communication in automation system by connecting in PROFINET Real-Time networks to modular and extendable EtherCAT terminals. The Coupler can also connect the PROFINET network to EtherCAT Box modules. For the connection to happen, the Coupler converts the telegrams it receives from the PROFINET network into their corresponding E-BUS signal representation, which can be used in the connected EtherCAT terminal. The connection between the Coupler and the PROFINET RT network occurs through the RJ45 interface; the Coupler also has another interface designed for the connection of other Couplers.

The number of EtherCAT terminals and the type of peripheral signals that can be used with this device depend on the process data size. However, the recording data transfer rate used by the product is about 100 megabits per second. Upon delivery, this Coupler does not require any type of configuration operation; operators can simply integrate it into the communication system and set it up for efficient operation. The power supply required by the Coupler for operation is approximately 24 volts. Also, about 2 amperes of current is consumed through the E-bus interface present on the product. The product also maintains a maximum electric isolation voltage of about 500 volts.

The housing of the EK9300-1010 is a compact terminal housing with signal Light Emitting Diodes, also the housing is made from polycarbonate material which provides high mechanical strength and chemical resistance. The wiring of this product requires solid conductors, flexible conductors and spring actuation by a screwdriver. The product has a total weight of about 0.3 kilograms.
