The EK9300-1005 is an EtherCAT coupler produced by Beckhoff within the EK EtherCAT Couplers series. It links a block of EtherCAT I/O terminals to an upper-level PROFINET network so that digital and analog field signals can be integrated into a PLC without an additional gateway. By combining a local terminal backplane with a PROFINET front end, the unit reduces node counts in distributed control panels and supports compact machine layouts. This arrangement lets a controller exchange process data with Beckhoff terminals through one compact interface. Because the coupler sits between the controller network and the terminal stack, it helps centralize signal exchange at one interface point.
