The EK1960-0008 EK EtherCAT Coupler is an automation component designed specifically for advanced safety and high performance in various industries. This coupler is manufactured by Beckhoff, and it comes with 20 inputs and 24 outputs to connect directly with various field devices.
The EK1960-0008 coupler ensures operation reliability through its watchdog monitoring mechanism, with configurable watchdog timeout from a minimum of 2 ms up to a maximum of 60000 ms. This coupler is intended to operate in a permissible air pressure range of 750 hPa to 1100 hPa, thereby accommodating usage under varying altitudes and industrial environments. The acceptable storage temperature range of this coupler is quite broad as it ranges from -40°C to +70°C, which makes it eligible for storage for an extended period in uncontrolled conditions. The EMC and safety standard is also assured as this coupler meets EN 61000-6-2 for EMC immunity and EN 60664-1 (Degree of Pollution 2), which signifies it for electrically noisy and semi-contaminated environments. The supply voltage for this coupler is fixed at 24 VDC to support standard industrial power systems. The output process image in this coupler is adjusted in real-time by depending on the TwinSAFE configuration, so that there is precise control and safety coordination. In terms of installation conditions, this coupler supports an acceptable air humidity level of 5% to 95% non-condensing, which guarantees performance stability in wide humidity conditions.
