The EK1960 EtherCAT Coupler is an EtherCAT coupler designed for use in the digital I/O coupling of EtherCAT networks. The coupler includes digital channel support with the up to 0.5 A per channel feature for current handling, which delivers safe current handling for a wide range of devices that are connected. The coupler is constructed for repeated heavy use in standard industrial uses with working ambient temperature ranging from +0 to +55°C.

Its working temperature range makes EK1960 appropriate for mounting on open floor and in closed control enclosures with typical thermal environment. The EK1960 applies spring force terminal termination, which produces heavy-duty wiring with simple assembling and low maintenance. The technology of connection provides high contact reliability within vibration or extended use. It weighs approximately 200 grams and is light in weight and compact and thus ideal for space-constrained applications. Its mechanical design provides space for close-panel mounting configuration and space-friendly ease-of-wiring access and diagnosis.
