The EK1501-0010 coupler is used to connect Ethernet-based communication systems to I/O terminals in industrial automation packaging systems. It is built by Beckhoff and it creates products that can function exceptionally in control systems.

The coupler EK1501-0010 is structured to operate within industrial environments requiring consistent communication and power transfer. Its EMC immunity and emission characteristics comply with EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4 standards by enabling stable function in areas exposed to electromagnetic interference. It withstands ambient conditions with relative humidity up to 95% without condensation risk by supporting reliable application across a range of facility climates. It has a data transfer rate of 100 Mbit per sec by ensuring sufficient throughput for common automation protocols. It features a dual SC Duplex bus interface by offering redundancy or segmented connectivity by depending on the application. For electrical input, the unit is powered via a 24 V DC source with a tolerance of -15% to +20%. The current drawn from the US supply is 150 mA with an additional load based on a quarter of the cumulative E-bus current.

The coupler EK1501-0010 has an integrated E-bus that delivers up to 2000 mA by distributing sufficient current to connected modules downstream. Its housing is constructed from polycarbonate and holds physical dimensions of the unit are 51 mm in width, 100 mm in height and 69 mm in depth. It is mounted on a 35 mm DIN rail by using a locking mechanism to secure it in place. Its electrical connections are achieved through spring-actuated terminals with solid conductors (s), flexible conductors (st) and ferrules (f) which are engaged via a screwdriver tool for efficient wiring.
