Product Description:
The EK1300 is a state-of-the-art Ether CAT coupler designed by Beckhoff Automation for the integration of Ether CAT terminal units into the Ether CAT P network. This coupler converts features two P-coded M8 sockets designed to connect the coupler to the network. These sockets are shielded to reduce electromagnetic interference during operation. Each port of this unit has a current rating of 3 amperes, and an electrical isolation of about 500 volts. The total number of Ether CAT terminals that can be supported by this coupler design is estimated to be as high as 65,535. The data transfer medium required by this unit for operation is a fully shielded Ether CAT cable. This cable is not included in the delivery package of the coupler; it has to be ordered separately by operators using this unit.
The typical current supply trough the E-bus of the EK1300 is 2000 milliamperes. This coupler does not produce a high amount of heat during operation; it is able to get rid of excess heat using surface cooling. The housing of the EK1300 features LEDs through which operators can monitor signal status.
