The EK1101-0080 is a Beckhoff Automation coupler equipped with an ID switch and designed for Fast Hot Connection. This coupler ensures efficient connection between Ether CAT protocol and peripheral devices through the Ether CAT terminals. The total number of terminals that can be supported in the overall system featuring this product is about 65,535, while the maximum distance allowed between two stations is estimated to be about 100 meters. The Fast, hot connection supported by this product makes it possible for operators to connect Ether CAT components in applications that have changing topologies, allowing for an extremely fast fool change and the connection of a star topology. The system and field supply of this unit are provided directly at the coupler; the coupler provides connected terminals with the required current from this supply.
