The Beckhoff EK1101-0018 is a high-performance EtherCAT Coupler from the EK EtherCAT Couplers line. It connects EtherCAT Terminals (ELxxxx) to 100BASE-TX EtherCAT networks without any problems. It runs on 24 V DC (Volts in Direct Current) and has 2 RJ45 ports for daisy-chaining EtherCAT devices. It can accommodate up to 65,535 terminals for big industrial automation systems. The EK1101-0018 is designed to be mounted on a DIN rail and has an IP20 protection certification. It may be used in typical control cabinets. It supports a maximum data transmission rate of 100 Mbit/s and makes sure that communication over the EtherCAT network is rapid and in sync with a latency of around 1 µs. This coupler can handle up to 4.2 GB (Gigabytes) of addressable I/O (Input & Output) points and 4096 customizable IDs, which makes it very scalable for systems with a lot of parts. It gives the E-bus 2000 mA of current, and the power supply, Ethernet, and power connections are all electrically isolated from each other by 500 V to make the system safer.
