Product Description:

The EK1101-0010 is an Ether CAT bus Coupler that is manufactured by Beckhoff Automation to connect the Ether CAT protocol to Ether CAT terminals. This allows for real-time data exchange and fast communication between field devices and the control system. The unit operates with a bus supply voltage of 24 volts and features two RJ45 Ethernet connections. Its IP20 design allows it to easily prevent penetration of foreign solids with an external diameter larger than 12 millimeters; this protection category also makes it important for the Coupler to be integrated inside a control cabinet that is able to provide it with additional protection according to the IP54 protection category. A 35 millimeters DIN rail is required for the installation of this Coupler; multiple units of the Coupler can also be installed together using the double slot and key connection.

There is no air blower present in the EK1101-0010; however, it still maintains efficient temperature regulation by dissipating excess heat from its housing surface. The data transfer medium approved to be used with this product is an Ethernet/Ether CAT cable; it should be a copper wire that is shielded and belongs to at least category 5 classification. A maximum distance of 300 meters is also allowed between the two stations.

The EK1101-0010 Ether CAT coupler does not require any configuration; it is also CE-listed and UL-authorized for use all over the world. During operation, this product consumes about 110 milliamperes of current, and its temperature range is also between 0 to about 55 degrees Celsius. Diagnostic LEDs are integrated into the front panel of this Coupler; these allow operators to determine signal status during the operation of the Coupler in real-time. The electrical isolation of this unit is rated at 500 volts; it is crucial for preventing cross currents and ensuring reliable communication.
