The EK1100-0008 is a state-of-the-art Ether CAT coupler designed to provide a connection link between the Ether CAT protocol at the fieldbus level and other Ether CAT terminals in the automation systems. This coupler is able to operate with up to 65,534 terminals during operation. The manufacturer of this product is Beckhoff Automation, which is one of the leading producers of automation devices used in industries all over the world. There are two M8 sockets present on this product; these are M8 ethernet sockets used to connect the coupler to the communication network. The cable intended for the transmission of the EK1100-0008 is an Ethernet/Ether CAT cable; this connection cable should be well shielded and should belong to at least the Category 5 standard. The maximum permissible distance that can exist between stations with reasonable data integrity is 100 meters.
