Product Description:
The EK1000 is an Ether CAT coupler equipped with Ethernet networks that support Ether CAT communication systems. The networks supported by this coupler are designed to ensure the connection of various Ether CAT terminals with standard automation network technology. This coupler is built by Beckhoff Automation to serve as an effective link between Time Sensitive Network (TSN) and the Ether CAT-capable devices. Part of its many advantages include extreme Fast Control and the use of distributed clocks within the TSN network. There are two serial RJ45 ports present on this product unit; the first port is intended for the connection of the coupler to either the Ethernet or the TSN network system, while the second port serves as a way to extend the Ether CAT network capability of this coupler.
The EK1000 can be used with up to 65,534 Ether CAT terminals, it also supports a maximum distance of about 100 meters between two stations. The configuration of this unit is not required for its optimum operation; however, installation, handling and general interaction with the unit should still be carried out by highly trained engineers who have been certified. The power supply requirement of this unit is 24 volts with a variation of 15 to 20 per cent allowed; it also operates with an input current of 120 milliamperes.
The EK1000 is designed to be used at an ambient temperature range of between -25 to 60 degrees Celsius; its storage temperature is also intended to be between -40 to about 85 degrees Celsius. The EK1000 conforms to international standards, it is CE certified, and belongs to IP20 protection category. Its design also allows for a variable installation position. Relative humidity around this product should not exceed 95 per cent during operation.
