The EJ6002 is produced by Beckhoff manufacturers. It comes in EJ EtherCAT Plugins series. This EtherCAT Plugins module durable housing ensures stability in harsh industrial automation environments.
The EJ6002 EtherCAT Plugins module is made of durable, lightweight polycarbonate plastic which offers mechanical protection and some electrical insulation. It supports communication speeds between 300 and 256,000 bits per second, which can be set as needed for specific applications. Its physical design ensures that only correctly coded modules can be plugged into matching slots which prevents installation mistakes. It is intended to be plugged directly onto a signal distribution board which simplifies wiring and maintaining a compact installation. When it is connected to the EtherCAT E-bus it draws 190 milliamperes. It is specifically designed to handle serial communication protocols which enables connections with various serial devices. It secures itself mechanically in place by means of a latch that fits into a cut out on the circuit board. The module can temporarily store up to 864 bytes of incoming data and 128 bytes of outgoing data which helps to manage different communication speeds and data bursts effectively.
The EJ6002 EtherCAT Plugins can be configured to operate with RS232, RS485 or RS422 serial standards based on the specific external device requirements. It is compact with dimensions 12 mm x 66 mm x 55 mm which enables high density installations where space saving is critical. The field wiring is handled separately through the distribution board and the module itself connects using standardized dual 20 pin sockets. It follows EtherCAT standards for fast, real time industrial Ethernet communication which is specialized for modular I/O system designs. It is designed to support two separate data channels simultaneously.
