EJ3318 is an EtherCAT plug-in module. It can be used for direct connection of 8 thermocouples. The module uses 2-wire technique for operating thermocouples. A microprocessor performs linearization across the selectable temperature range. Broken wires are indicated by diagnostic LEDs. Two RTDs performs cold junction compensation. The EJ3318 module provides measurements in millivolts. The default measurement range for K type thermocouples is from -200 to 1370 degrees Celsius and the voltage range is ±30 to ±75 millivolts. Power supply for the module is supplied by the E-bus and the current draw is 190 milliamps. The input filter limit frequency depends on a number of factors, including conversion time, sensor types, and sensor length. The typical value is 1 kilohertz. Supported thermocouple types include N, U, B, R, S, K, J, L, E, T, and C.
The conversion time depends on a number of factors, including filter setting and configuration, and can vary from 5 microseconds to 40 milliseconds.
