Product Description:
EJ2889 is an EtherCAT plug-in module with 16 digital output channels. It is designed to act as an interface between binary control signals from automation equipment and actuators working at the plant floor. The module provides electrical isolation, which is a critical factor in ensuring safety for industrial equipment and working personnel. Signal status of the 16 outputs is indicated by LEDs at the front side of the EtherCAT module. Special module features include ground switching, support for multiple load types, and output protection. The rated load voltage for the output channels is 24 Volts DC. Each output can deliver 0.5 Amps current. The short-circuit current cannot exceed 7 Amps. Switching times specified for the module are 50 microseconds for the ON state and 200 microseconds for the OFF state.
Current consumed by the E-bus on the module is 130 milliamps. The auxiliary power current is 30 milliamps plus the load current. 500 Volts of electrical isolation is provided by the module between the E-bus and field potential. The EJ2889 module weighs approximately 30 grams. Optimal operating temperature for the unit is -25 to 60 degrees Celsius. For storage, Beckhoff recommends -40 to 85 degrees Celsius temperature. The relative humidity must not exceed 95% and condensation is not permitted. For electromagnetic compatibility the module complies with EN 61000-6-4 and EN 61000-6-2. For vibration and shock resistance the module complies with EN 60068-2-6 and EN 60068-2-27. Protection class of the module is IP20. The EtherCAT module installs on a signal distribution board. Its dimensions are 12 x 66 x 55 millimeters. For safe and reliable operation, the module requires professional handling at all times.
