By executing deterministic control cycles directly on the device, it removes the need for a separate industrial PC and reduces cabinet space. At the hardware level the controller uses an i.MX535 Cortex-A8 processor clocked at 1 GHz; this single-core architecture provides cycle times adequate for distributed I/O and modest motion tasks while keeping power dissipation low. The computing core is matched with 1 GB DDR3-RAM, allowing simultaneous execution of the operating system, TwinCAT tasks, and diagnostic utilities without paging.
