Product Description:
The CX9020-0110-1001 is an embedded PC manufactured by Beckhoff as part of the CX Embedded PC Systems series. The unit integrates a processor, storage and communication interfaces inside an 84 × 100 × 91 mm DIN-rail housing for cabinet-mounted control tasks. It serves as a programmable platform for machine sequencing, data logging and fieldbus routing; this specific model is supplied without a TwinCAT runtime so software licensing is added separately when PLC or motion control is required.
It employs an Arm Cortex-A8, 1 GHz CPU with one core; this architecture balances deterministic response with modest heat output for fanless operation. The controller carries 1 GB DDR3-RAM, providing working memory for the operating system and user applications, while bulk storage is delivered by 2 x MicroSD, 512 MB included, allowing removable program and recipe data. On the Ethernet side, two integrated ports — 2 x RJ45 — support line topology or switchless daisy-chaining; each interface operates at 10/100 Mbit/s, making the unit compatible with standard industrial networks. A 128 kB NovRAM secures process variables during power loss, preventing data corruption between cycles.
For peripheral expansion, the front panel provides 4 x USB 2.0 sockets that accept HMI touchscreens, service laptops or wireless adapters without an extra hub. If the optional DVI-I module is fitted, the graphics controller drives displays up to 1920 × 1200, supporting local dashboards directly from the PC. System thermal load remains low because maximum power draw is only 5 W, so ventilation inside compact enclosures is minimal. All circuitry is supplied from 24 V DC, simplifying integration with common control-cabinet power buses. The IP20 enclosure and 590 g mass fit standard mounting rails and allow side-by-side placement with Beckhoff I/O terminals without exceeding cabinet depth.
