The CX5130-0160 is an embedded PC developed by Beckhoff within the CX Embedded PC Systems series. The device integrates an Intel Atom-based processor, onboard memory, and multiple communication interfaces into a single compact housing. It is intended to host IEC 61131-3 control programs and HMI tasks, forming the core of distributed I/O stations or small-scale controllers in industrial automation cells. This layout supports direct machine-level control while keeping the controller footprint compact for cabinet installation.

The heart of the system is an Intel Atom E3827 running at 1.75 GHz. Its processing resources include 2 cores, which support responsive execution of control logic and background communication tasks. Application data and buffers reside in 4 GB DDR3-RAM, a capacity suited for small SCADA services and motion libraries. The logic modules are powered from a 24 V DC supply rail, and internal regulation keeps overall dissipation below 14 W, which simplifies cabinet thermal management. No TwinCAT runtime is preinstalled, so the runtime can be added to match the intended application. The IP20 aluminum enclosure protects internal electronics against accidental contact while allowing convection cooling, and a 2 A feed supplies attached Beckhoff I/O terminals through the right-hand bus interface.
