The CX5130-0135 is an embedded PC module from Beckhoff, positioned within the CX Embedded PC Systems series for mid-range machine and plant control. It operates as a compact PLC and HMI host, running TwinCAT 3 Runtime to execute IEC 61131-3 logic alongside Windows-based visualization tasks. This combination allows control and interface functions to share the same embedded platform. Processing is handled by an Intel Atom E3827 clocked at 1.75 GHz. This dual-core architecture supplies 2 logical cores so the real-time kernel can run independently from user-level services. A soldered 4 GB DDR3 RAM block holds both control code and runtime variables without mechanical sockets that could loosen under vibration. Even with graphics accelerated by the integrated HD controller, the system draws only 14 W at peak load, keeping panel temperatures low and allowing fanless operation inside cabinets rated for 55 °C. Two integrated Ethernet controllers expose control networks through 2 x RJ45 ports, enabling separate fieldbus and IT segments without external switches.
