It serves as a compact node that combines USB, DVI, and Ethernet links with an EtherCAT network so that controllers can extend peripheral lines without adding separate hubs. Within an automation cabinet, the unit routes field signals, video, and service lines through a single device, simplifying panel wiring and saving DIN-rail space.
An auxiliary input of 24 V DC powers the internal logic, while total energy draw is limited to 1.15 W, helping keep cabinet power loss low. Data from a connected USB line is transferred at up to 12 Mbit/s, which matches the full-speed ceiling of the embedded host controller. The housing clips onto a 35 mm mounting rail, and the unit can be installed in any orientation because no convection airflow is required. One RJ45 port provides the daisy-chain link to the EtherCAT trunk, and polarity protection prevents damage if supply lines are reversed.
