In typical automation lines, it serves as a protected access point for temporary peripheral connections while the control hardware remains enclosed. This arrangement helps preserve the cabinet boundary during file transfer, diagnostics, and general service access.
The enclosure is 54 mm wide, 54 mm deep, and 120 mm high, allowing it to fit beside standard bus couplers on cramped back panels. Its housing carries the IP66 ingress rating, preventing dust entry and guarding against power-wash streams. Reliable operation is specified from -40 °C up to 60 °C, so the unit can be mounted in refrigerated areas or sun-heated kiosks without auxiliary conditioning.
