The CU8210-D001-0102 is a compact WLAN interface produced by Beckhoff for the CU EtherCAT Junctions series. Installed on a controller or junction, the module provides wireless access so configuration laptops, mobile HMIs, or additional EtherCAT segments can join the network without fixed cabling. Within an automation line, it serves as a bridge between the real-time fieldbus and standard Wi-Fi infrastructure, which simplifies temporary connections and maintenance access.
A Realtek radio chipset powers the interface and supports the 802.11a/b/g/n/ac family of WLAN standards. Channel widths of 20/40/80 MHz allow the device to balance throughput with spectrum occupancy, while the maximum physical layer speed reaches 433.3 Mbit/s. That data rate is suitable for cyclic diagnostic traffic and general file transfers. The interface operates on both 2.4 GHz and the 5.15 to 5.25 GHz portion of the 5 GHz band, and it uses CCK, DQPSK, DBPSK, BPSK, QPSK, 16-QAM, 64-QAM, and 256-QAM modulation schemes to match signal quality.
