The device functions as a SuperSpeed USB hub designed for DIN-rail installation inside control cabinets, where it fans out the host controller's USB channel to multiple field modules. By presenting a single upstream interface and several isolated downstream sockets, the junction reduces cable runs, allows hot swapping of diagnostic tools, and preserves the tight timing that EtherCAT applications require in manufacturing cells, packaging machines, and process skids. This arrangement keeps peripheral connections close to the control hardware, which helps maintain a clean cabinet layout when temporary or permanent USB devices must be attached.
