Product Description:

CU2008-0000 is an industrial Ethernet switch. It is part of the CU20xx series from Beckhoff. The switch relays incoming Ethernet frames to the respective destination ports. When operating in full duplex mode, the switch prevents collisions between frames. The switch can be used in automation or office networks. Its installation is user-friendly and can be performed via a built-in mounting rail adapter on 35 mm DIN rails. The switch can be mounted in any desired position. There are 8 Ethernet ports on the CU2008-0000 switch. Each of the ports supports automatic baud rate detection and can operate at 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps. These ports are designed for RJ-45 connectors used with high-quality copper network cables. The ports can be operated in half duplex of full duplex mode. Two LEDs per port provide clear and fast fault diagnosis.

The CU2008-0000 is an unmanaged switch: operators don’t need to and cannot configure the switch. Each network cable connected to a port on the switch can have a maximum length of 100 meters. Multiple switches can be cascaded to increase the transmission length. The power supply connection is via a three-pole spring loaded terminal. The nominal input is 24 Volts DC and the power supply range is 18 to 30 Volts. The power supply supports reverse polarity protection. Typical current draw of the switch is 100 milliamps. Weight of the unit is approximately 340 grams. Dimensions of the Ethernet switch are 85 x 100 x 38 millimeters. Ingress protection class of the unit is IP20: it is designed for indoor use and must be protected from dust and liquid ingress. The switch can process maximum 148,800 Ethernet frames each second.
