The CP9030-A002 interface board is produced by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. It serves as the link between a host Industrial PC and remote operator fronts, allowing human-machine interaction to be moved away from the control cabinet without sacrificing response time. By concentrating processing in the PC and forwarding field-level signals through this board, machine builders can keep wiring organized and reduce panel depth while still providing button, LED, and touch control at the workstation. This arrangement lets the computing hardware remain in a protected cabinet while the operator interface stays close to the machine process.
The board installs on the legacy backplane through an ISA connector and carries video to the panel over a dedicated 50-pin display header. For discrete commands, it supports 256 button channels and 256 LED channels, with LED output beginning at base address 0x0000. A maximum trunk length of 100 m is supported when two coaxial cables are used on each link, allowing the panel to be mounted far from noisy drives. Touch input reaches the PC through an RS232 interface, and a second RS232 port is reserved for an external touchpad. Additional 26-pin I/O, 10-pin keyboard, 10-pin PS/2 mouse, and 10-pin UPS headers provide fixed connection points for peripherals. Separating the display path from the command and status lines helps the board handle visual output and operator inputs through dedicated connections.
Supplemental power arrives on the four-line header marked 12V/GND/GND/5V, ensuring that both logic and illumination rails are available at the panel. A floppy-disk ribbon can be attached through a 34-pin header for legacy service utilities. One card can drive up to 3 complete operator panels at the same time. Legacy peripheral support on the board allows older panel installations to remain connected without redesigning the entire control layout. The connector layout also separates power, display, touch, and auxiliary I/O paths so peripheral routing stays orderly inside a crowded control enclosure.
