Product Description:
CP9030-4A is a CP link card. It is produced by Beckhoff Automation. The card provides connectivity between computers and control panels used for industrial process control. The card uses CP link technology for gigabit transmission. This protocol uses twin-core coaxial cables which can go up to 100 meters in length. BNC connectors on the end of the cables connect to the ports on the card. Two separate cables are used, one for reception and one for transmission. The card can be installed in any PC with ISA or PCI slots. These cards allow connection of up to 3 control panels to a single computer. A separate CP-link card is required for each PC to control panel connection. The technology transmits power and data over the same cable, reducing cabling requirements.
Configuration jumpers on the back side of the card allow for parameter setting and configuration. When viewed vertically, the CP9030-4A card has the CP link interfaces at the top and a Sub-D26 connector at the bottom. This sub-d connector is used for one touchpad, one touchscreen, one keyboard and one PS/2 mouse. The card draws power from the PC’s ISA bus. For connection distances above 50 meters, Beckhoff recommends using an additional power connection. At 5 Volts, the current drawn from the ISA bus is 1 Amp. At 12 Volts, the current drawn from the ISA bus is 1.5 Amps. Beckhoff provides multi CP link cable sets for connecting a PC to more than one control panel. This industrial equipment is sensitive and can get damaged by improper handling. Therefore, only trained personnel should install and troubleshoot the CP link card and related equipment.
