Product Description:
The CP7709-0001-0020 is a fanless Panel PC produced by Beckhoff as part of the CP Panel PC Systems series. Integrated into machine fronts, this unit combines control, visualization, and operator input for decentralized automation cells. By embedding a Windows-based computer behind a sealed display, the product eliminates the need for separate industrial PCs and standalone HMIs, reducing wiring complexity on production lines. The model also supports deterministic fieldbus communication through its built-in interfaces and serves as the primary runtime platform for PLC logic in compact machinery.
It has a 6.5-inch TFT display that runs at a native resolution of 640 x 480, which is sufficient for clearly rendered alarms, curves, and soft keys on small equipment. Control tasks are processed by the low-power AMD LX800, 500 MHz CPU, which balances energy consumption with real-time responsiveness under Windows CE 6. The system ships with 256 MB DDR RAM, allowing user programs, graphic objects, and historical data to reside entirely in memory without swapping to flash. All electronics are driven from a single 24 V DC source, so the unit ties directly into standard control-panel power buses without dedicated AC supplies.
Its aluminum bezel has an IP65 protection rating, meaning the front resists dust and water jets when gasket-mounted into a cabinet door. Network connectivity is provided through 2 x RJ45 ports, each capable of negotiating at 10/100 Mbit/s; this permits separation of the automation network from higher-level plant Ethernet. A 12-pin DIN RS-232 port supports legacy serial devices, while a resistive touch screen replaces physical push buttons, matching the design choice of having no front keys. Mechanical installation is handled from the rear using 4 x M6 threaded holes; with a housing depth of 44 mm and a front footprint of 173 × 267.9 mm, the panel occupies minimal space on operator consoles.
