The CP7702-0000-0020 is a panel-mounted industrial PC produced by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. In production lines and packaging machines, it combines visualization, data logging, and network connectivity in one enclosure to streamline control architecture. By integrating processing hardware directly on the operator front, it shortens signal paths between sensors, drives, and supervisory systems while presenting process data at the machine. This arrangement keeps the computing platform close to the interface and reduces the need for separate local display hardware.
It draws its logic power from a nominal 24 VDC supply, with operation permitted down to 22 VDC at the connector, so a small brownout margin is available for battery-buffered systems. The connector is rated for 16 A and uses a 4-pin M12 plug, simplifying field wiring up to a maximum conductor size of 1.5 mm², while the protective earth conductor requires at least 4 mm². Two Gigabit interfaces are provided as 2 x RJ45 ports for plant networks that carry SCADA traffic, camera streams, or drive communication. Legacy equipment can still be attached through the integrated 1 x RS232 service port. Internally, application code executes from DDR4-RAM. For harsher environments, the housing carries an IP65 protection rating that blocks dust and low-pressure water jets at the front panel. Data logging and operating-system images reside on a swappable CFast module, allowing rapid replacement without opening the unit. During transport or operation, the electronics withstand shocks up to 5 G for 30 ms, which helps prevent data corruption when forklifts or presses cause vibration peaks. Reliable service is also maintained in ambient air containing up to 95% RH non-condensing moisture. This combination suits mounting on moving gantries and use in humid filling areas.
