The CP7232-0001 is an industrial Panel PC produced by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. It merges a 15-inch touch display, local computing resources, and machine-side I/O connections so that control programs and operator commands can reside in the same enclosure. In factory lines or processing cells, this arrangement eliminates a separate PC cabinet and shortens signal paths between the controller and field devices, simplifying installation and service access.
The operator interface is built around a 15 in screen that follows a 4:3 format and renders graphics at 1024 x 768 pixels, a combination that balances viewing area with modest graphics load on the CPU. Single-finger touch sensing supports quick selection of on-screen objects, while an alphanumeric front keyboard arranged in a US layout allows direct data entry when a touchscreen is impractical. System electronics rest on a 3.5-inch motherboard and use DDR4 memory modules, giving the controller faster bus speeds than earlier DDR3 designs. A 24-volt power circuit feeds both the display backlight and the motherboard through an internal DC/DC converter; the requirement for 24 V DC lets the unit use the same low-voltage supplies that commonly power sensors and actuators. All external surfaces carry an IP65 rating, so airborne moisture or splash water cannot reach the electronics when the front panel is cleaned.
Mechanical dimensions suit pendant or arm mounting. The rear housing measures 291.5 x 325 mm and couples to a tubular arm with a 48 mm diameter so cable routing stays inside the tube. Overall height is 485 mm and width is 410.2 mm, leaving space on the enclosure for ventilation slots and the single 2.5-inch drive bay that accepts rotating or solid-state media. A separate CFast slot provides removable flash for backups or recipe data, and one internal DDR4 socket supports future RAM expansion without altering the housing profile.
