The CP Panel PC Systems series from Beckhoff includes the versatile CP7223-0002-0000 industrial computer. This fanless panel PC is designed to run real-time control tasks and operator visualization directly on the machine, eliminating the need for a separate controller. Its role in industrial automation is to host PLC runtime, motion libraries, and SCADA interfaces while withstanding the dust, fluids, and vibrations commonly found around production equipment.
A single Ethernet controller provides network access through one base port, and network cable runs can extend up to 100 m when standard copper cabling is used. The connection is provided through a tool-free RJ45 Push-Pull jack, simplifying cable access in tight enclosures. Internal logic is powered by a 24 VDC power rail routed through 1.5 mm² conductors, while the protective earth connection requires a conductor cross-sectional area of 4 mm². The computer uses a 3.5-inch motherboard that accepts high-density DDR4 memory modules to support real-time control and visualization workloads. An fTPM 2.0 chip is permanently activated to protect cryptographic keys and verify boot signatures. The storage interface, GPIO lines, and power supply share a common reference backplane designed to remain stable within the system’s stated vibration limit.
The housing has an IP65 front-panel protection rating, so washdown spray does not compromise the electronics or the 2.5 mm tempered-glass touch surface. The system has a shock limit of 5 G for 30 ms half-sine pulses, supporting resistance to mechanical impacts during transportation and operation. A 2.5-inch hard disk or SSD slot accommodates the selected storage device within the enclosure. The system tolerates continuous axial vibration of 0.5 G with 0.035 mm peak displacement. The motherboard and storage assembly are mounted within the housing to support stable operation under the stated mechanical loads.
