The CP7130-1006 is a panel-mount industrial computer in Beckhoff’s CP Panel PC Systems series for direct machine-level control and visualization. The unit combines a touch display, processing electronics, and field connections in one enclosure so it can run TwinCAT or other automation software without an external cabinet PC. By placing the controller at the front of a cabinet, the device shortens signal paths between the user interface, local I/O, and higher-level networks. This arrangement lets the same unit handle machine operation and on-screen process display at the point of use.
The housing is built for tight installation spaces. Its dimensions are a chassis depth of 186 mm, a chassis height of 291 mm, and a chassis width of 236 mm. These measurements set the clearance needed behind the panel cutout. Operators interact through a 10 in display that presents process graphics, while an alphanumeric membrane keyboard provides tactile data entry. Electronics inside the chassis operate from a regulated 24 VDC supply, which is commonly available in standard control cabinets. The incoming line passes through a seven-pole plug rated for 16 A so startup inrush and connected peripheral loads remain within the connector limit.
Continuous operation is permitted up to 45 °C, so extra ventilation or spacing is only needed when enclosure heat rises above that level. The front panel has an IP65 rating, which provides full dust protection and resistance to low-pressure water jets and supports use near washdown equipment. Three front-accessible USB ports allow quick connection of storage devices, scanners, or input accessories without opening the cabinet door. A dedicated RS232 serial interface supports legacy devices such as scale controllers or simple text displays. This mix of front-accessible ports and serial connectivity allows the panel PC to serve both current automation hardware and older peripheral devices in the same workstation.
