In an automation cell, it mounts on the front of an enclosure, links back to the host computer by CP-Link, and provides the operator with HMI functions without placing electronics in harsh areas such as splash zones or dusty access points. The unit relays process data, alarms, and commands while maintaining industrial ingress protection on both its connectors and its viewing surface during normal machine operation.
Environmental sealing is split between the connector side and the front panel; the circular I/O connector area is rated IP54, while the laminated front is rated IP65, allowing washdown of the screen without fluid reaching internal circuits. A color TFT display with a diagonal of 15 in provides enough viewing area for multi-window SCADA graphics and routine machine prompts. The CP-Link interface uses two coaxial lines and terminates on a shielded BNC socket, which keeps the cable arrangement simple at the panel. During transport or accidental impact, the unit withstands shocks of 5 G for as long as 30 ms, helping protect the display and connectors from brief mechanical stress. This shock tolerance is useful when the panel is installed on equipment that is moved, repositioned, or exposed to occasional handling impacts.
