CP7031-1007 is a CP703x series industrial control panel. The unit is designed and produced by Beckhoff Automation, a premier provider of industrial automation solutions. The control panel is equipped with a 12.1 inch Toshiba display with touch support. Depending on the number of operating hours, the display lamp on the unit must be replaced every few years. Personnel with relevant training can perform the replacement. The control panel is also equipped with an alphanumeric keyboard, and an emergency stop button. Typical applications for the control panel include plant and machine engineering. A CP link interface is located at the rear side of the unit. CP link is a Beckhoff proprietary communication protocol. It utilizes coaxial cables for transmitting power and data. Power for the CP7031-1007 is drawn from the CP link connection.
CP link provides connectivity between the control panel and industrial PCs used to control it. The control panel gets activated as soon as it connects to an active CP link connection. The maximum cable length supported by the CP link protocol is 100 meters. BNC connectors are used for the physical CP link interfaces.
