The CP7021-1008 is a fanless operator-interface computer from Beckhoff in the CP Panel PC Systems series. It functions as an integrated HMI and control point, bringing PC-based automation tasks such as machine visualization, parameter entry, and local data logging directly to the cabinet door or machine frame. By combining touch display, processing hardware, and fieldbus wiring into one flat housing, it minimizes panel depth and wiring complexity in distributed control architectures. This arrangement suits production equipment that needs local operator access without a separate industrial monitor and PC enclosure.
Signal and power are routed over CP-Link, so no separate mains or VGA leads are required. Two coaxial connectors, presented as 2 x BNC, carry video, USB, and 24 V while the metal shells are sealed to IP54 to keep dust and splashed liquids away from the backshell area. The front display measures 12 in, offering adequate pixel density for typical PLC dashboards while fitting mid-range machine doors. Behind the bezel, the electronics are confined to only 27.5 mm of depth, allowing installation in shallow enclosures or swing arms without interfering with adjacent components. The shared connection method also helps keep the rear of the panel uncluttered, leaving more room for nearby wiring and control hardware.
The aluminum faceplate carries an IP65 rating, so the monitor surface withstands hose-directed cleaning common on packaging or food equipment lines. A single CP-Link trunk can extend up to 100 m, permitting the embedded PC or IPC host to be mounted in a protected control room while the panel remains on the line. Within an ambient range of 0 to 55 °C, the device maintains full function without forced ventilation, and storage is allowable down to -20 °C. Mechanical survivability is bolstered by 5 G shock resistance for 30 ms, guarding the glass and boards during transport or machine impacts. For mechanical layout, the housing is 406 mm wide by 308.3 mm high, and it drops into a 374.8 mm by 280.7 mm cutout so doors or support panels can be prepared before final installation.
