CP7001-1003 is a CP70xx series control panel. It is a product of Beckhoff Automation. The panel is equipped with a 12 inch TFT display. In addition to the display, its front panel features a keypad, a keyboard and additional function buttons. Typical applications for the control panel include plant engineering and machine engineering. Its aluminum housing provides strong protection. It can be mounted via four mounting holes on the backplane or an optional mounting arm. The control panel must not be installed in explosive environments. A CP link connection is available on the back side of the unit. CP link is a Beckhoff technology used to connect control panels to computers. It uses coaxial cable for data and power transmission over distances of up to 100 meters.
The CP link A connector on the backside of the CP7001-1003 unit receives data. The CP link B connector on the back side of the unit transmits data and receives power supply. A low-resistance protective earth connection is established through the ground bolt located at the rear of the control panel housing. Beckhoff provides pre-assembled CP link cable sets measuring 3 to 100 meters in length. Dimensions of the CP7001-1003 unit are 353.8 x 326.3 x 27.5 millimeters. Beckhoff does not permit control panel connection or disconnection in explosive atmospheres. Prior to connecting any cables, the industrial PC must be switched off. The membrane keypad on the unit must be operated by human fingertips. Use of other devices on the keypad can damage it. The touchscreen must also be only actuated by human finger tips or a touch screen pen. The display on the unit can be replaced if required.
