The CP6909-1004-0000 is a panel PC produced by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Intended for mounting on machine enclosures, the unit combines an industrial display and a touchscreen interface for local operation. It also includes an embedded processor so that it can function as the local human-machine interface and soft PLC platform in automated lines.
Visual feedback is presented on a TFT screen, allowing consistent brightness and wide viewing angles required at operator stations. The electronics draw power from a regulated 22–30 VDC supply, so the unit can share the same low-voltage rail as field I/O without a separate transformer. Continuous operation is supported between 0 to +55 °C, enabling installation in control cabinets that are only lightly ventilated. The aluminum front has a Front IP65 rating, which helps prevent dust ingress and exposure to water jets during washdown, while the steel rear remains ventilated. Internal circuits are fed through a power connector rated for 16 A, providing headroom for the PC, the backlight, and attached USB peripherals.
Mechanical resilience during transport is verified for 5 G shocks lasting 30 ms, and in service the chassis endures sinusoidal movement up to 58 Hz at 0.035 mm and random vibration to 0.5 G without functional loss. Two USB ports are exposed on the rear panel, and when extended over a 50 m CAT-5 line the interface sustains 480 Mbit/s so remote devices can remain connected from the control room. The DVI-D video channel supports the same 50 m reach for remote monitor mirroring. Wiring is simplified by spring terminals that accept conductors up to 1.5 mm² and an earth bond of 4 mm² minimum. During shutdown, the computer withstands ambient temperatures between -25 and +65 °C, and its ventilated back complies with Rear IP20 for use inside closed cabinets.
