Product Description:
The CP6906-0001-0000 is a compact panel PC developed by Beckhoff within the CP Panel PC Systems series. Designed to combine control, visualization, and operation in one unit, the device mounts on the front of a control cabinet and interfaces directly with PLC networks. In industrial automation, it serves as an HMI terminal that provides local processing power and display capability so machinery status and operator inputs remain synchronized in real time.
Visualization is presented on a TFT screen that supports crisp color graphics for process diagrams and machine status pages. The front face carries a protection rating of IP65, which helps protect the display area from dust and allows washdown cleaning on the exposed side. Internal electronics are powered by a regulated 24 VDC supply, allowing the unit to share the same control voltage used by standard automation equipment. Operator input is detected through a Single-Touch resistive overlay, which supports direct interaction at the panel. The rear housing is rated IP20, reflecting its intended placement inside the cabinet. One DVI interface and one USB extender interface are provided to route video and I/O to remote stations without significant signal loss.
Shock tolerance of 5 G, 30 ms allows the panel to withstand incidental impacts during transport or cabinet-door movement without functional loss. Using a CP-Link 3 extender, keyboard, mouse, and monitor can be placed up to 50 m from the device, which supports decentralized operator stations on large production lines. Emission conformity with EN 61000-6-4 and immunity performance according to EN 61000-6-2 help the PC operate alongside variable-frequency drives and high-current contactors. The system falls under NEC Class 2 wiring rules, which supports low-power cabling methods in suitable installations. Two downstream USB ports augment the single upstream extender line and provide an accessible point for peripheral connection or data transfer without opening the enclosure.
