By presenting process data, alarms, and operator commands on the factory floor, it serves as the visualization endpoint for TwinCAT or third-party automation software running on a host computer.

Control electronics are supplied from a nominal 24 VDC source, so standard low-voltage power supplies used in cabinets can feed the panel.
